Domestic applicants must meet one of the following entry requirements:
Applicants wit h higher education study

Successful completion of at least one year of a higher education course at an Australian higher education provider (at AQF level 7) within the last 10 years.

Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study
Successful completion of a Vocational Education and Training (VET) award at Certificate IV or higher at an Australian Registered Training Organisation (or equivalent) or higher education provider (within the last 10 years).

Mature Age Students - Applicants with work and life experience
VSC understands that preparation for study is not restricted to formal educational attainment and that valuable intellectual and skills development can be gained through wide ranging experiences. We will review applications on a case-by-case basis from persons of at least 21 years of age, who do not have formal qualifications for entry but who seek admission to courses on the basis of their educational and skills development through experience and informal study.

Applicants with recent secondary education (within the past two years), successful completion of Year 12 (or equivalent) with required minimum score below;

International students are also required to meet the English Language proficiency requirements.

Overall score 60 (min.18 in writing, 7 in listening, 16 in speaking and 8 in reading)
Pearson Test of English (PTE)

Minimum overall score of 50 with no band less than 42
Cambridge English Advanced (CAE)

Minimum overall score of 169 with no band less than 162

In the case of an applicant not meeting the entry requirements, special consideration may be given for admission. This must be approved by the Dean.
Special consideration may be applied for the following reasons:

applicants of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent (See Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Policy)

applicants with a disability
-
applicants from a socioeconomic or disadvantaged background
-
applicants from remote, rural or isolated areas
-
first-in-family learners

applicants with learning or language difficulties (See Equity and Diversity Policy)
If seeking special consideration applicants need to provide documentation and evidence supporting your request.(See Admissions Procedure)
If you seeking recognition or credit for prior learning it must be assessed according the Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy. (See Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy and Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning Procedure)

Application Accepted
If an applicant meets all the entry requirements for admission, an offer will be made to a successful applicant. The offer will be either unconditional or conditional. If an applicant meets all the entry requirements the offer will be unconditional. Where not all requirements are met the offer may be conditional subject to the applicant providing further evidence, or meeting the conditions required. Conditional offers are issued with specific conditions determined by the Dean. Students who wish to accept an offer will do so in accordance with the Admissions Procedure within the timeframe provided on the formal notification of admission.

Application Rejected and Appeal Rights
VSC may vary or cancel any decision where it is determined that the applicant has not met the admission requirements. VSC may also vary or cancel any decision made on the basis of incorrect, incomplete or fraudulent information provided by the applicant or by referees in support of an application. When an applicant is refused admission that person may appeal the decision according to the Student Complaints and Appeals Policy and Procedure. Any refusal must contain the reasons for that decision and have enough detail and clarity so the applicant can determine if the refusal warrants an appeal.
